WHAT WE DO

We teach. And we excel at it.

SOAR was founded with one purpose in mind: to provide the most cutting-edge therapy possible to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in order to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

SOAR was founded in 2016 by Jim Matthews, a California native who moved to the pacific northwest in early 2015 for less traffic and more than 1 season.

…He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.

Jim is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with 4 Bachelors degrees and 2 Masters degrees.

Jim is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). He is passionate about helping people, especially kids, which led him to become a school psychologist. However, he wanted to do more, and help families along the way.

So he started SOAR with the idea that creating a positive environment, where employees and families thrive, will have better results for kids with autism and developmental disabilities.

Since opening in 2016, SOAR has grown to be the largest Applied Behavior Analysis therapy in the inland northwest. We’re excited to serve hundreds of families throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington and employ hundreds of people who are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in children’s lives every day. In 2019, SOAR expanded into Coeur d’Alene in order to help kids and parents here too.
